Who is Eligible?

Any candidate age 7 or older who needs financial assistance for tuition and travel dance team expenses.

Application Guidelines

Scholarships will be awarded based on the following:

1. Written essays. Applicants must explain why they are seeking the scholarship, their future goals, and how they intend to give back to the local dance community

2. All scholarship award finalists will be required to audition to demonstrate their technical dance and performance abilities. 

All levels and styles of dance are accepted.

3. All applicants must complete the Scholarship Application.

Award Criteria

The organization uses the following as criteria for selecting scholarship awards: financial need, written essay, attendance at company class or dance team, determination, and dance skills demonstrated during auditions. The amount of scholarships is based on the amount of money available and the number of qualified applicants.

Recipients of our scholarships are required to re-apply every year and to teach or assist (depending on age and experience) one to three dance choreography classes, camps, and workshops.

All scholarship recipients are required to join the Amps Association, a dancer-parent organization. The sole role is to help raise funds to pay for dance fees.

Deadline

The deadline to submit a scholarship application is June 1, 2024, for the 2024-2025 Dance Season.
